Hello,

I'm confused and wondering if there are several different JavaFX plugins for Eclipse at the moment?

Is this here at exadel.org the same or the official successor of the sun-plugin at:
http://javafx.com/downloads/eclipse-plugin/ ?

Ander there seems to be also a plugin for JavaFX 1.2 (not only the ole 1.0-one) an Kenai:
http://kenai.com/projects/eplugin2/pages/Home

And when googeling one can also read something of an exadel-JavaFX-suite instead of al JavaFX plugin. I really don't know what is here the same and what not.
Currently using the official sun-plugin?!

thanks for help

There are two plug-ins. One from Oracle (started by Sun). The other one is from Exadel that you see on this site, our is called Exadel JavaFX plug-in for Eclipse. We used to call it JavaFX Studio - that's maybe why you see links on Google.

If you tried our plug-in, please let us know how we can make it better. You are welcome to request features via this forum or Jira: http://jira.exadel.org

Our release cycle is very short, about every 2 weeks. With every release we add a few new features and fix bugs.

Has there been any attempt to migrate some functionality from Oracle's plugin into this one?
Oracle's plugin is stalled at javafx 1.2.1 support, but it has some interesting features: debug, tooltip.
Tooltips would be one of those low hanging fruits.
The only trouble is I can't seem to get access to their source code.
I also don't know if licensing would allow it.

No attempts were made.
